I. Job Summary
Manages and provides daily leadership for container facility while maintaining company service and safety standards. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the container shop including inventory, repairs, deliveries and distribution

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

·Provides day-to-day supervision and support to facility staff.
·Assigns duties and organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
·Oversees the daily operation of the container shop, including staffing and scheduling.
·Ensures containers are in good repair in both structure and appearance to properly represent the company’s image.
·Assures container supply meets customer demand.
·Purchases or oversees purchasing of materials, and compiles financial information for the purchase of capital assets.
·Schedules delivery of containers and coordinates swaps of containers.
·Effectively interacts and works with other managers and supervisors to ensure the most efficient, cost-effective operation of the container shop.
·Assists in the budget process as required.
·Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the container shop(s) through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
·Monitors and evaluates departmental performance and productivity, identifies operational issues and process improvements, and implements strategies to improve performance.
·Communicates and enforces company policies and procedures and all safety programs.
·Oversees personnel needs of the department including: coaching, training, discipline, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
·Determines training needs and provides training to new and/or lesser-experienced employees.
·Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:
·Direct supervision of 5-8 full-time employees including: mechanics, welders, drivers/operators, and technicians.

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience

Required: High school diploma or G.E.D., and four to six years’ previous experience.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience and seven to ten years’ previous experience.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

Preferred: Fork Lift Trainer; DOT Certification / Physical Health Card; Electrical, Welding, Hydraulics and/or Management Credentials.


C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Production, procurement, equipment repair, transfer station, technical, mechanical, safety, and environmental skills, and supervisory/management skills required.
